‘UK creativity inspires the world’ - the UK is at the geographical and emotional heart of the Creative Industries, and the ideas generated here influence and enthuse individuals around the world.
The legacy of previous creative generations still enthuses the creative businesses in the North West region today. The sector is truly thriving with some 31,000 creative and digital businesses, between them employing approximately 321,000 people.
The future also looks bright for the sector. In 2010, the BBC is due to complete the relocation of significant production and commissioning departments from London to the state-of-the-art MediaCity:uk at Salford Quays, a development that will offer space for an estimated 1,150 creative and media-related businesses.

Export opportunities exist at many international market places such as Mipcom and MipTV, Cannes Film Festival, the American Film Market. In the music sector, North West companies have been successful at SXSW, Midem and via Trade Missions to key markets such as USA and Japan. The design sector is also well supported with opportunities to exhibit at many overseas trade fairs.
