ERDF Accessing International Markets

Funded through the northwest region international  European Regional Development Funding (ERDF)project - Accessing International Markets, runs until end March 2013.

Eligibility

  • Northwest based SMEs who meet the eligibility criteria for European Regional Development Funding (ERDF).
  • A company may only receive 1 GAP grant during the life of the AIM ERDF project, i.e. to end March 2013.

Funding

Under this project the Global Access Programme provides £1000 maximum funding for companies participating in a series of overseas missions and exhibitions. Companies "earn" funding through taking part in relevant missions and exhibitions as part of an agreed action plan. Each mission or exhibition is assigned an equivalent grant rate based mainly on UK Trade & Investment national market visit grant rates. Please note that the total £1000 grant is not paid until a company has taken part in qualifying activity to the value of £1000 or greater.

Participation

To qualify for the Global Access Programme a company needs to work with an International Trade Adviser to complete the following:

  • A Client Information Form (CIF)- this enables us to confirm that a company is eligible for the ERDF programme and acts as a sign-on form.
  • Gross Value Added data - so that we are able to set a baseline for the company's position at the start of the programme and monitor improvement in company performance
  • An action plan for the proposed overseas visits - including objectives, markets to be visited and likely timescales.
  • An agreement to provide us with relevant evidence of outputs and outcomes resulting from the programme such as value of new sales, jobs created, jobs safeguarded etc.
